Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone uses the gray market to purchase items on shortage. I know previously these markets were not regulated, but now that they will need to be regulated by the FDA, are more using them? I guess a bigger question is how can you be sure that they are following those regulations? Just for safety, integrity of the medications you are purchasing. Thanks!

ASHP released a drug shortage notice for Hypromellose 2.5% Ophthalmic Solution and did not list any available products or alternatives. What is a therapeutic equivalent for Hypromellose?

I understand that other products like Refresh (Carboxymethyl cellulose) have a lower water retention rate.
