Samples in Provider Based Billing Clinics

Hi all - looking for input about samples in outpatient clinics. These clinics are newly a department of our hospital and are now surveyable by DNV. We have been conducting mock surveys to prepare. For the past 10 years, we have not allowed samples in any of our clinics due to the extensive documentation, labeling, etc. that goes along with it. However, a number of these clinics have and dispense samples. Our stance right now is to rid of all the samples in alignment with what we have done in the past, but posting here to see if this is behind the times? Do you all allow samples in clinics? Do you have a system that works well? Is this the norm to allow them these days or is it still good to be strict? Thank you!
