Common use insulin workflow question

Hello.

Our organization recently moved our common use short acting insulin from locked drawers to our ADC to improve security.
For those of you who use common use insulin vials at your institution.
1. How do you mitigate the risk of RNs pulling up more insulin than needed & wasting the overage once they have checked the pt's BG at bedside?
2. Do you have a different process for providing insulin to pts in isolation?

Thank you in advance.
